Full Stack engineer
Curate is a high growth technology startup located in downtown Madison. We were founded in May of 2016 by a PhD candidate in Computer Science out of UW Madison and an MBA from UW Whitewater. Curate’s software scans through public meeting agendas and minutes from cities, counties, and school board websites and sends our customers weekly reports of leads and business intelligence. Curate's customers rely on our data to help grow their business and understand their market in ways that are not possible without our technology.
Curate offers a fun and flexible work environment. We have an office dog and a great location downtown. We want everyone here to grow and stretch and have fun together.
We offer full health benefits and paid time off.
We iterate to success. Our product, processes, and people are always improving.
We’re data driven. We stretch ourselves to grow fast, measuring progress with KPIs.
We solve for the customer. We look for ways to make our product easy to use and love.
We embrace adventure. We dream big, and we recognize occasional failure is the price of innovation.
We are building the best team. We hire adults and trust them.
What we’ll do for you
From your first day you will be a member of our team, working with us and not for us. We want you to achieve your professional goals. We’ll help you develop your skills to make that happen.
What you’ll do
As a Full Stack Engineer with Curate, you’ll report to the CTO. You’ll continue to enable our team to provide a high quality product to our customers. You’ll work on complex distributed systems using the latest open source technology platforms like Kubernetes. You’ll work with the development and executive teams to prioritize features and fixes within an existing infrastructure. You’ll also work with product managers and business development teams to implement website features for our internal tools as well as the customer facing website.
The Most Important Part of Your Job
The team is counting on you having experience in a professional setting as an engineer. Things like code versioning, release cycles, documentation and testing are second nature to you. You strive to create highly available, well architected components and microservices that are production ready.
You know how to get clear on priorities and balance your work with the needs of your teammates.
The Engineering Domain
We use languages like Python, Typescript, and Go. Machine learning and natural language processing are at the heart of our business. We’re continually developing a large scale distributed and highly available system. If you’re familiar with Angular for web development, kubernetes for devops, and mongo for databases you’re off to a strong start.
