AI/Machine learning Engineer
Curate is a high growth technology startup located in downtown Madison. We were founded in May of 2016 by a PhD candidate in Computer Science out of UW Madison and an MBA from UW Whitewater. Curate’s software scans through public meeting agendas and minutes from cities, counties, and school board websites and sends our customers weekly reports of leads and business intelligence. Curate's customers utilize this information to grow their businesses.
Curate offers a fun and flexible work environment. We believe in working hard and having fun together. We have an office dog, a great location downtown, and plenty of opportunities to work in many different areas of the business if you are interested. Our ideal candidate has an interest in entrepreneurship and/or business (but not required). We are more than willing to train for the right candidate. We also offer full health benefits and paid time off.
What we’ll do for you:
We are looking for people who want to expand their skills and work with a fast-paced talented group of forward thinkers. From your first day you will be a member of our team, working with us and not for us. Our goal is to help you achieve your professional goals and develop your skills to make that happen.
What you’ll do:
As an AI Developer with Curate, you’ll develop methods and models using the latest AI frameworks (including spaCy, Tensorflow, and Spark) to make Curate’s data review processes more efficient (including text extraction, entity extraction, tokenization, POS tagging, and more advanced labelling and classification methods). You’ll stay up to date on the latest deep learning research to improve on our existing libraries used today and design new features from scratch. You’ll work with the founders and the development team to formulate and validate our product features and design methods to make data review and maintenance as efficient and accurate as possible.
Must have worked in professional development settings in the past, with a strong proficiency in Python, Node.js, or Go.
Have a thorough understanding of code versioning and the importance of documentation and testing.
Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, but a master’s degree or PhD with a focus in AI or ML is preferred.
